Regular seminar

NewNet@Paris organizes weekly seminars in order to boost synergies between researchers of the chaire.  The seminar will take place:

  • every Wednesday morning, from 10am to 12am  in Telecom ParisTech premises (23 av Italie, Room I304).
  • note that weekly  LINCS seminars are held on the same premises in the afternoon

The goal is to discuss on-going research and potential research collaborations
and opportunities. The seminar will consist of technical presentations and will be followed by information about the chair (News, Q&A).  The seminar is aimed to be:

  • open, to anyone interested from Cisco or Telecom ParisTech
  • informal, ideal for Ph.D students to present their work (even early work)

October 17, 2018
  • NewNet@Paris meeting

    October 17, 2018 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

    Speaker: Pierre-Antoine Rault

Title: Group Key Agreement in Information Centric Networks with Tree Group-Diffie Hellman

Abstract: The user-server paradigm does not scale well without redundant servers and load balancing, or more generally caches. But to secure content, one needs to encrypt a connection between a user and a server, disabling intermediary caches lest they are controlled by the same entity running the server. In order to allow pervasive cache by intermediaries like routers in an ICN setting, we need protocols that provide a unique encryption key for multiple users.

With that scenario in mind, I compared the complexity of a handful of protocols and extended a previous study I made to include traditional Group-Diffie Hellman and narrow down potential candidates that would perform best in ICN's various use cases. I also present a re-implementation of TGDH, a popular algorithm in the domain, focusing on the structural choices made for its redesign, and outlining its key differences to make it work in Information-Centric Networks.
